Brutal Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 138 Hurts Pedestrian [Phelan, CA]

Phelan, CA (December 16, 2024) On Saturday evening, a pedestrian was seriously hurt in a violent hit-and-run crash on Highway 138.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the horrific collision happened before 7 p.m. near Montova Drive.

Reports say that a semi-truck was involved in the hit-and-run that left a pedestrian severely injured on Highway 138 near Montova Drive in Phelan.

Emergency responders found a man with major injuries on the shoulder of the highway. Witnesses reported that the pedestrian, who was walking in the traffic lanes, was struck by the mirror of a red Robertson’s big rig. Despite honking, the truck driver did not stop to assist and continued down the road.

The pedestrian was transported by AMR to Community Hospital, and his current condition remains unknown. The CHP Inland Office is investigating the incident, and further details will be released pending their preliminary report.
