Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash on Chestnut Avenue Claims a Life [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (August 19, 2024) On Monday morning, a woman died and another was hurt after a brutal hit-and-run crash on Chestnut Avenue.

According to Fresno police, the 2-vehicle collision happened at about 12:22 a.m. at the intersection with McKinley Avenue.

Reports say that the collision involved an SUV and a truck. Officials say that a truck struck the SUV making a turn.

Authorities say that 2 women were inside the SUV, one of the women was ejected off the vehicle, while the driver of the truck fled the scene on foot.

Officials say that both women from the SUV were taken to the hospital, the woman who were thrown out of the vehicle was later declared dead at the hospital.

Police were able to locate the suspect driver and got him to surrender.

Fresno PD is investigating the deadly collision.
