Cyclist Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run Crash on Cesar Chavez Boulevard in Fresno

Fresno, CA (August 15, 2024) – On Thursday night, a bicyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Cesar Chavez Boulevard.

The Fresno Police Department reported that a man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run incident in Fresno on Thursday night. 

Officers responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Peach Avenue around 10:30 p.m. 

According to police, a bicyclist heading east on Cesar Chavez Boulevard near Peach Avenue was hit by a vehicle that turned in front of him and then fled the scene. 

Detectives said a concerned citizen followed the fleeing vehicle and provided its location to officers. 

While the vehicle was found, the suspect remains at large. The bicyclist, a 30-year-old Black man, complained of hip pain and was taken to the hospital, where he is in stable condition. 

The investigation is ongoing.
