San Antonio, TX (October 5, 2024) On Thursday morning, an off-duty Bexar County Sheriff’s deputy was hurt and hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash Near Tioga Drive.

According to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the traffic incident happened at about 9 a.m. Thursday near Tioga Drive and Powhatan Drive, close to the Oak Terrace Apartments.

Reports say that a deputy is now hospitalized after a vehicle struck him while he was directing traffic on the Northwest Side of San Antonio.

Officials from the Sheriff’s Office reported that the vehicle responsible for the hit-and-run did not stop to assist the injured deputy.

Authorities located the abandoned vehicle shortly after, but the driver fled the scene.

Bystanders assisted the deputy, who was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition, receiving treatment for various injuries sustained in the accident.
