74-Year-Old Buena Park Woman Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Seapoint Street and Summit Drive
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (February 17, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Seapoint Street and Summit Drive.
The victim was identified on Tuesday by Orange County coroner’s officials as 74-year-old Buena Park resident, Hiroko Hibino Spradlin. She was walking or jogging on Seapoint around 1 PM, when she was struck by a GMC Sierra that made a northbound turn on Seapoint St from Summit Dr.
Spradlin suffered critical injuries and was taken to the UCI Medical Center in Orange. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The 57-year-old Huntington Beach resident remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with authorities. No arrests have been reported at this time. The Major Incident Response Team continues to investigate the fatal accident.
