One Killed in Big-Rig Accident on Highway 165 [Hilmar, CA]

Fatal Big Rig Collision near Crane Avenue in Merced County

 
HILMAR, CA (March 2, 2019) – One unidentified victim was killed in a big-rig accident on Highway 165 Saturday night, near Crane Avenue.
 
Medics and state troopers arrived to the scene around 6:40 p.m., after receiving dispatch calls about a serious collision in the area. The two vehicles identified were a sedan and a semi-truck; however, the details on what transpired are unclear at this time.
 
A coroner that was called to the scene confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the impact.
 
The sedan sustained major front-end damage and required towing, due to the collision. Surrounding roadways were shut down for several hours as authorities investigated, but have since reopened.
