Skagit County Fatal Collision Kills 15-Year-Old Girl
Skagit County, WA (February 8, 2024) – A 15-year-old girl was killed while 3 others were injured following a State Route 534 collision Tuesday night.
The fatal solo-vehicle crash unfolded before 10 p.m. east of Coyote Lane wherein the vehicle driven by a 15-year-old boy failed to negotiate a turn and slammed into a utility pole on the right side of the road.
According to WSP, two 15-year-old boys, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old girl were riding in the vehicle when the collision happened.
The 15-year-old girl who died was a student at Mount Vernon High School. Officers said she was not wearing her seatbelt.
Moreover, troopers said one of the 15-year-old boys was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital. The paramedics took the other 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl to Harborview Medical Center.
Officers said the boy who was driving during the accident is under investigation.
