Injuries Reported in Phoenix Auto Accident on Interstate 10 near 48th Street
PHOENIX, AZ (May 11, 2022) – Monday night, Heston Silbert and another suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 10 near 48th Street.
The incident happened on Interstate 10 near 48th Street near the Phoenix-Tempe border.
According to reports, Col. Heston Silbert, director of the Department of Public Safety, suffered minor injuries. Also, officers noted that Silbert wore a seat belt at the time of the crash. Responders took the director to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the 69-year-old driver from Rio Roco suffered serious injuries. Officers said that he failed to wear a seatbelt.
Moreover, reports said that the 69-year-old man attempted to avoid stalled traffic when he veered. However, he lost control and collided with Heston Silbert.
At this time, the authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
However, officers ruled out DUI.
