1 Killed and 2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash near River Bluff Avenue
REDLANDS, CA (October 24, 2018) – A man was killed Wednesday evening following a head-on crash near River Bluff Avenue. The victim was later identified as 68-year-old Henry Vindiola, a resident of Highland.
According to the Redlands Police Department, the incident took place at about 6:40 PM. A Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 73-year-old San Bernardino man, was heading north on Alabama Street when it drifted over the center line.
There, it clipped a southbound Nissan SUV before colliding head-on with a Ford Fusion driven by Vindiola.
Despite aggressive life-saving efforts, Vindiola succumbed to his traumatic injuries. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet driver and his 57-year-old female passenger were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries. Updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
