Gabriela Andrade and Henry Saldana-Mejia Dead in Newport Beach Accident, Grace Elizabeth Coleman Arrested
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (December 10, 2020) – Tuesday evening, two parents, Henry Saldana-Mejia and Gabriela Andrade, died in a DUI crash on Newport Coast Drive and Pelican Hill Road.
According to Public Information Officer Heather Rangel of the Newport Beach Police Department, the collision occurred at around 7:45 p.m.
Initially, it happened in the area of Newport Coast Drive and Pelican Hill Road South.
Moreover, reports revealed that a Nissan with a man, a woman, and three children collided with a Range Rover driven by Grace Coleman.
Shortly after, responders pronounced the man and the woman inside the Nissan dead at the scene.
Subsequently, paramedics transported the three children and Coleman to hospitals.
Later reports indicated that this accident was a result of DUI.
Police stated that they arrested 22-year-old Grace Elizabeth Coleman on suspicion of driving while inebriated.
Ultimately, her driving caused the fatal Pelican Hill Road crash.
Consequently, the man and woman, Santa Ana couple Henry Saldana-Mejia and Gabriela Andrade died.
Meanwhile, paramedics took their three daughters to nearby hospitals for aid.
Coleman is now facing second-degree murder charges, considering her prior DUI convictions.
