Evening 2-Vehicle Wreck on Vista Road in Helendale Sends One to Hospital
HELENDALE, CA (January 26, 2019) – One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Helendale, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Vista Road and National Trails Highway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white box truck and brown Nissan Titan pickup truck collided. When officers arrived, a lot of diesel fuel was spilled on the roadway. One occupant was found injured from the crash and had complained of pain.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and took the patient to a St. Mary Medical Center. The extent of injuries sustained was not immediately known.
Towing services and hazmat crews were requested to remove the vehicles and clear the wreckage.
Alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out as possible contributing factors. The incident remains under investigation.
