1 Person Dead in Santa Cruz Pedestrian Accident on Opal Cliff Drive near Court Drive
SANTA CRUZ, CA (September 30, 2024) – Friday morning, Helen Hines died in a tragic pedestrian crash on Opal Cliff Drive near Court Drive.
The incident happened around 5:50 a.m. on Opal Cliff Drive near Court Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an e-bike struck a female pedestrian who was walking east of the bicyclist.
Moreover, responders airlifted the victim, identified as 82-year-old “Pookie” Hines, to Valley Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Furthermore, paramedics transported the male bicyclist to Dominican Hospital with unknown injuries.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
