Ashlie Resendes Injured in Fatal Rollover Collision in Merced
Merced, CA (June 23, 2022) – On Wednesday, Heintz Guth, 85, of Merced, and Ashlie Resendes, 22, of Fresno, sustained injuries in a fatal collision on Ashby Road.
The authorities responded to the traffic incident at about 12:35 p.m. on Cooper Avenue.
According to the investigators, Resendes was driving a westbound vehicle at an unknown speed and attempted to turn right onto Cooper Avenue.
However, while she was attempting to make the turn, her vehicle crashed with a 2019 Volkswagen driven by Guth.
Officers say the Volkswagen was stopped at a stop sign on Cooper Avenue facing south toward Ashby Road when the collision took place.
The Volkswagen overturned killing the 75-year-old Merced woman sitting on the front seat at the scene.
Moreover, the paramedics rushed Heintz Guth and Ashlie Resendes to Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries.
Officers say drugs nor alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the rollover collision in Merced.
