Man Injured in Accident on Save Mart
Marysville, CA (March 25, 2022) – On Thursday, a man sustained injuries while officers arrested 36-year-old Heather Wood of Marysville in a DUI crash on the Save Mart parking lot.
The pedestrian accident took place at about 3:07 p.m. on 828 J Street.
Officers say Wood, who was then driving with three minors backed her vehicle into the pedestrian as he walks through the parking lot. Afterward, Wood pulled forward and ran over the victim’s legs.
The emergency rescuers took the injured pedestrian to Rideout Hospital for treatment.
Moreover, the authorities found out that Wood was twice the legal blood alcohol level during the accident. They booked her into the Yuba County Jail on charges of DUI causing injury and child endangerment.
Luckily, all the three children, who are all under 15, did not suffer injuries from the incident. Police released them to a parent.
Avoid assumptions. Never assume that just because you follow the traffic rules and drive safely, other drivers will do the same. Watch for other drivers’ erratic behavior or poor driving habits. Always practice defensive driving to avoid an incident.
Most importantly, we should never drink and drive.
