Heather L. Polk Seriously Injured After Being Hit by a Car on Highway 63
Phelps County, MO (September 18, 2024) On Sunday afternoon, 36-year-old Heather Polk of Rolla, suffered serious injuries after a pedestrian crash on Highway 63.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), reported that Polk, suffered injuries after being hit by a car around 12:47 p.m.
Officials say that Polk was attempting to cross Highway 63, approximately five miles south of Rolla, when a northbound 2022 GMC Sierra struck her in the passing lane as it overtook another vehicle.
Polk was airlifted to University Hospital by an Arch 6 medevac. The GMC driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to MSHP.
MSHP is investigating the traffic crash on Highway 63 and have not released further details at this time.
