Driver Arrested after Head-On Crash on West Mission Boulevard in Pomona

Pomona, CA (January 11, 2024) – On Thursday afternoon, a high-speed chase ended with a head-on crash on West Mission Boulevard.

Reportedly, the crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. near the intersection of West Mission Boulevard and East Brea Place, leading to a tense standoff.

The innocent driver exited their car and, escorted by an officer, walked away without any apparent serious injuries. 

Meanwhile, the suspect stayed behind the wheel of a pickup truck for about 20 minutes. Eventually, police fired a less-lethal round into the cab, shattering the driver-side window. 

Following this, officers with weapons drawn approached the truck and pulled the suspect out. 

The reasons for initiating the pursuit remain unclear.
