1 Killed and 2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident near Pettitt Road

 
OAKHURST, CA (July 24, 2018) – A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon and two others were hospitalized, following a collision between two vehicles.
 
As per reports, the deadly crash happened at 2:51 PM near Pettitt Road. A Kia Forte was traveling west on Road 222 when it crossed over the double yellow lines. There, it collided nearly head-on with a Hyundai SUV.
 
The solo driver of the Kia, 69-year-old Haroleen Sue Bowlan, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old woman driving the Hyundai and her 35-year-old male passenger, had to be freed using the Jaws of Life. The woman was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno after sustaining major injuries. Her passenger was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
 
Officials continue to investigate to determine the cause of the crash and other possible contributing factors. No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
