Injuries Reported in SR 281 Multi-Vehicle Crash
George, WA (September 7, 2024) – 74-year-old Harold Venables of Cle Elum and his passenger, 78-year-old James Dittmar of Ronald, were injured in a vehicle crash on State Route 281 Thursday morning.
Investigators determined Toefuataina Taai, 33, of Yakima was northbound in his Toyota Tacoma pickup on SR 281. His vehicle rear-ended a Nissan Frontier pickup driven by Harold Venables, pushing him into the southbound lane.
Afterward, Taai and Taii were struck by a big rig driven by Elias Lopez Fernandez, 44, of Moses Lake.
Taai, Venables, and Dittmar, were transported to hospitals.
Meanwhile, charges are pending against Taai.
Troopers are investigating if DUI was a factor in the collision.
