Hannah Dunn Dies, Nelson Dunn Injured in Newport DUI Car Accident
NEWPORT, WA (June 24, 2019) – A woman died in a suspected DUI crash on Bead Lake Road on June 17.
According to Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at around 4:00 p.m. A Ford Expedition rolled down an embankment, estimated to be 300 feet high.
24-year-old Nelson J. Dunn of Spokane, the driver of the Expedition sustained minor injuries. However, his passenger, 23-year-old Hannah E. Dunn, died at the scene of the accident.
According to the sheriff’s office, police arrested Nelson Dunn for vehicular homicide. However, the authorities did not reveal what the relationship is between the driver and the passenger.
Alcohol was believed to have played a role in the incident.
The Washington State Patrol and sheriff’s office are handling the investigation.
