8-Year-Old Boy Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on D Street
Imperial, CA (June 22, 2024) On Thursday afternoon, 19-year-old Hanna West was arrested in a hit-and-run accident on D Street that injured an 8-year-old boy1.
According to Imperial police, the hit-and-run crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. at Barioni Boulevard and D Street.
Reports say that West was driving a white Hyundai Elantra that hit and injured the minor. Officials say that West fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the injured child.
Police were searching for the suspect driver, when she returned to the scene. Officials arrested West and booked her into Imperial County Jail on charges of Felony Hit and Run.
Meanwhile, the child was airlifted to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
