Hamad Alotbi Killed on Pioneer Hill Road Crash in Tacoma

 
Tacoma, WA (January 29, 2021) – On Monday, 23-year-old Hamad Alotbi of Poulsbo died, while 26-year-old April Griffths of Belfair was injured in a vehicle crash on Pioneer Hill Road.
 
The fatal crash took place at about 8:00 a.m. at the intersection with Highway 3.
 
Authorities said a 2003 Honda Odyssey drove east on Pioneer Hill Road and entered the intersection onto Highway 3 head-on a 2001 Ford F250.
 
As a result, the Ford traveling northbound crashed with the Honda Odyssey on its passenger side.
 
Responders took Alotbi, the Honda driver to St. Joseph hospital in Tacoma for sustaining serious injuries.
 
On the other hand, rescuers took Griffths, the Ford driver to a Kitsap hospital with minor injuries.
 
Unfortunately, Alotbi succumbed to his injuries from the accident.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities closed the northbound lane of Highway 3 for about an hour while they investigate the scene.
