Hailey Bergquist Injured in Vehicle Collision on Guide Meridian Road [Bellingham, WA]

Bellingham, WA (July 6, 2023) – At about 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Hailey Bergquist, 22, of Ferndale, and Deputy Sheriff Ryan Rathbun, 44, were both injured following a vehicle collision on Guide Meridian Road.

Investigating officers said a patrol vehicle driven by Rathbun had its lights and sirens on heading south near the intersection with East Kellogg Road. 

Rathbun entered the intersection and collided with the passenger side of the vehicle driven by Bergquist which was entering the intersection.

The sheriff’s vehicle was responding to a S.W.A.T. call when the collision happened.

The authorities are investigating the Bellingham traffic collision.
