Celeste Rodriguez and Another Injured in Forsell Road Collision
Yakima County, WA (February 28, 2022) – On Sunday, 27-year-old Haile Howe and 25-year-old Celeste Rodriguez, both from Grandview, sustained injuries in a vehicle crash on Forsell Road.
Officers responded to the collision at about 8 p.m. at the intersection with Hornby Road.
Unfortunately, Howe died at the crash scene.
Investigators said Rodriguez was driving the northbound Accord over the posted 50 mph speed limit. She failed to stop at the stop sign and went into the intersection with Forsell Road. The front of her vehicle was hit by the Durango.
The impact of the collision sent both cars off the road and up a bank at the intersection’s northwest corner.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed Rodriguez and the Durango driver to an area hospital. Rodriguez sustained fractures while the Durango driver sustained only minor injuries.
Moreover, officers consider speed and intoxicants as factors of the collision. They also mentioned that Howe was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
Meanwhile, the officers are investigating the collision. There’s no update on any charges Rodriguez could face.
