Police Seek the Driver of Hit-And-Run Crash on 39th Street in Gilbert
Gilbert, AZ (June 2, 2021) – Thursday night, a 43-year-old Guy Boyd sustained critical injuries after a hit-and-run crash in the crosswalk at 39th Street.
Moreover, the Gilbert hit-and-run crash happened on May 20.
Reportedly, Boyd was walking across Baseline Road, in the crosswalk at 39th Street, when a pickup truck smashed into him, then fled the scene.
EMS personnel then rushed Boyd to the hospital with an assortment of injuries. The wounds included skull and spinal fractures, a broken femur, and multiple contusions.
Moreover, his mother Judy Needham said Boyd is currently showing signs of improvement.
She is asking the public for help in identifying the driver.
Furthermore, she is also hoping that talking about what happened will create more awareness in the community and convince the hit and run driver to come forward and turn himself or herself in.
“We just want to help my son put his life back together, and a big part of that is identifying the person who hit him.”
Additionally, police described the vehicle as a white pick-up truck.
It’s unclear how long it will take before Boyd is able to walk again, and how much rehabilitation he is going to need.
