Wrong-Way Driver Causes Head-On Collision in Gustine
GUSTINE, CA (January 27, 2019) – One person was airlifted following a wrong-way head-on crash early Sunday morning at the intersection of 5 Freeway and Highway 152.
The crash happened around 12:31 a.m. involving three vehicles.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway near Highway 152 when it collided head-on with two other vehicles.
One party was ejected from the crash and an air ambulance was immediately requested to assist. The patient was then flown to a hospital with unspecified injuries and in an unknown condition.
All three involved vehicles were towed away from the wreckage.
The incident is still on active investigation to determine the factors involved and liability.

Many of the wrong-way drivers get on the freeways and immediately go all the way to the right side of the freeway, or the fast lane, because they think it is the slow lane.
