3 People Injured in Tempe Bicycle Accident on College Avenue near Apache Boulevard
TEMPE, AZ (October 27, 2024) – Last October 6, Gustavo Cuiriz was arrested in a startling bicycle crash on College Avenue near Apache Boulevard.
The incident occurred on College Avenue, just south of Apache Boulevard, south of the ASU campus. Officers confirmed that three bicyclists were taken to the hospital following the crash.
Tempe Police took 21-year-old Cuiriz into custody as the driver of a Toyota SUV involved in the incident. Authorities report that Cuiriz stayed on the scene and cooperated fully. Initial findings indicate that impairment was not a factor in the case.
Cuiriz now faces three counts of causing serious physical injury through moving violations, classified as a class 1 misdemeanor. His driving privileges may also be subject to suspension by the court. A mug shot for Cuiriz was not immediately released.
