Gus Almburg Leads Deputies in Pursuit that Ended in Crash in Oroville
OROVILLE, CA (August 06, 2019) – Deputies arrested a 57-year-old man after leading a pursuit that ended in a crash in Oroville Friday afternoon.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop. After that, he saw a car driving erratically at Elgin Street and Myers Street at around 12:11 p.m.
The driver, Gus Almburg, sped off his Honda Accord as the deputy approached. As a result, the deputy pursued Almburg until he slammed into a tree on Lincoln Boulevard at Grove Street.
An ambulance took Almburg to a local hospital. However, deputies found drug paraphernalia inside Almburg’s Honda. In addition, Almburg is now facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and felony evading.
