Guillermo Cartagena Hospitalized in El Sereno Hit-And-Run, Oscar Suarez Arrested
El Sereno, CA (October 22, 2020) – On Thursday evening, a pedestrian, 75-year-old Guillermo Antonio Cartagena, sustained injuries after a hit-and-run crash near Alhambra Avenue and Bullard Avenue.
The crash happened at about 6 p.m. on October 22 in El Sereno.
Los Angeles Police reports say the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, but the driver immediately fled the scene.
Emergency crews transported the pedestrian to a hospital. Authorities did not have additional information about the victim, but later ones revealed his identity.
Meanwhile, police believed the male suspect is driving a 2000-2010 white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with power washing equipment in the back.
On Sunday, police said the suspect hit and run driver turned himself in.
LAPD arrested Oscar Suarez, 44, for suspicion of felony hit and run. Additionally, the department said there were other outstanding warrants against him.
