Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident South of Potrero Road
Monterey County, CA (April 17, 2024) – Guadalupe Chavez, 41, of Castroville, was fatally hit by a vehicle on Highway 1 Sunday night.
It was about 11 p.m. when the fatal traffic crash happened south of Potrero Road.
Investigators said the victim was hit by a blue Hyundai driven southbound by Jose Rosas, 42. Officers said Rosas and his passenger were traveling toward Chavez.
The Hyundai driver struck the victim with the front right of his car.
Chavez fell on the southbound lane of traffic where she died.
