Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Ramon Road in Cathedral City
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (January 27, 2020) – A man died in a pedestrian crash Monday evening in Cathedral City.
The fatal crash happened around 7:50 p.m. on Ramon Road, just between Sky Blue Water Trail and Avenida El Mundo.
According to police, the man was walking north across Ramon Road when a westbound sedan struck him. As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The Riverside County Coroner’s office identified the victim as Guadalupe Arrez, 44, of Cathedral City.
The driver of the sedan pulled over and cooperated with investigators. It did not appear speed, drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident and the driver was released.
Police shut down the road until about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday while they worked on the scene.
The family of Arrez has set-up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral service costs.
