Airbag Deployment in Gridley Crash Leaves One Injured
GRIDLEY, CA (February 15, 2019) – A woman was injured following a two-vehicle collision Friday just before noon on Highway 99 at Avenue 48 off-ramp.
The collision happened around 11:54 a.m. involving a silver minivan and a white 4-door car.
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, the white car reportedly landed on the tracks, while the minivan was in the middle of the highway.
Airbags were deployed in one of the vehicles causing injuries to an elderly female occupant.
Emergency responders transported the injured woman to a medical facility to receive proper treatment. The extent of injuries sustained was not immediately known.
Towing services were requested to remove the vehicles from causing a traffic hazard to the rest of the commuters.
Investigators continue to look closer into the incident to determine the factors involved and liability.
