Brandon Wade Dees, Gretta Vasquez Flores, Ismael Meza Rodarate, and Scarlet Rose Estrada Hospitalized after Accident near Avenue 16
MADERA, CA (June 10, 2018) – Four people were hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 99, early Sunday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash was caused by a driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Brandon Wade Dees of Madera was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Dees and his three passengers were transported to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
A 2014 Kia, driven by Dees, was traveling southbound on Highway 99 at a speed of 65 mph in the left lane. He made an unsafe right turn, south of Avenue 16, and lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree, at around 7:30 AM. All four occupants of the vehicle were trapped in the 2014 Kia and needed to be pulled out from the wreck by responding firefighters.
The other occupants were identified 24-year-old Gretta Vasquez Flores, 24-year-old Ismael Meza Rodarate, and 20-year-old Scarlet Rose Estrada, all from Madera.
