1 Dead in Fillmore Bicycle Crash on Highway 126 and Main Street
PIRU, CA (October 29, 2020) – Tuesday morning, a bicyclist named Gregory Alcozar died in an accident on Highway 126 and Main Street.
According to reports, the Piru crash occurred about 5:45 a.m. on Highway 126 east of Main Street.
The California Highway Patrol responded after receiving multiple calls. When they arrived, they located a middle-aged male bicyclist hit by a Nissan Sentra.
Unfortunately, medical responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Furthermore, the vehicle driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative. The CHP said that the cyclist possibly rode within the traffic lanes on the westbound side of the highway. Thus, making it hard for the driver to prevent the collision.
Furthermore, the authorities shut down the traffic for around four hours as crews worked at the scene.
Also, the authorities haven’t made any arrests. As of this time, the authorities haven’t clarified whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
