Multiple People Injured in Suspected DUI Head-On Collision near Oak Avenue
GREENFIELD, CA (April 14, 2018) – A head-on, wrong-way crash on Highway 101 left multiple people injured, on Saturday evening.
The collision happened just before 9:00 PM on the northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Oak Avenue. According to California Highway Patrol, a driver was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes and crashed head-on with another vehicle. A third vehicle was also reported to have been involved in the crash.
An unknown number of victims sustained injuries. Paramedics arrived and rendered medical assistance to the injured parties.
Authorities believe that the wrong-way driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident. He was charged with DUI. Authorities are still investigating the incident, and no further information has been immediately released.
