Afternoon Collision with Motorcycle in Grass Valley Badly Injures Rider
GRASS VALLEY, CA (November 25, 2018) – A rider was injured following a traffic collision Sunday afternoon in Grass Valley, CHP officials said.
The collision happened around 1:37 p.m. at the intersection of Duggans Road and Wolf Meadows Drive, near the Sierra Montessori Academy.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Toyota Highlander collided with a motorcycle, sending the rider down in the roadway.
Cal Fire responded to the scene and requested for an air ambulance. The rider was then airlifted to a hospital with major injuries.
Meanwhile, the dispatch did not confirm whether or not the driver of the car stopped after the crash.
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
Always look twice for motorcycles while driving. Due to their size and speed motorcyclists are easy to miss, especially during high traffic activity. Check your blind spots twice before changing lanes and never try to cut off a motorcycle. Maneuvering around a speeding bike can easily cause an accident. Keep your eyes on the road and avoid distractions.
