1 Dead in Whitney Island Traffic Crash near State Route 20 and Libby Road
WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA (December 6, 2024) – Last Monday, Grace Horn died in a devastating accident near State Route 20 and Libby Road.
The incident happened near State Route 20 and Libby Road in Coupeville.
The Washington State Patrol reported that the 15-year-old driver was traveling “too fast for conditions” when she lost control.
Her family shared online that they believed she had gone to bed that night. Instead, she completed delivery orders, hoping to earn extra money for Christmas gifts. Tragically, her efforts ended in a fatal accident.
Authorities say the teen lost control of the vehicle and collided with a utility pole. Residents noted that the area has seen several serious crashes in the past.
This marks at least the second deadly crash at that location this year. While the Washington State Department of Transportation regularly reviews area roadways for safety, they have not announced plans for additional safety measures at the intersection.
Sweet Lawyers extends our condolences to the family and community of the victims.
