Wrong-Way Driver Remains At Large after Crash on Highway 101 in Paso Robles that Kills Good Samaritan
PASO ROBLES, CA (July 15, 2019) – A Good Samaritan was killed while trying to help someone in a wrong-way crash early Monday morning in Paso Robles.
The incident was reported at 1:52 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 at Spring Street exit.
According to the CHP, a wrong-way driver struck a vehicle on the northbound lanes of Highway 101. Two people stopped to help, when another vehicle came through the area and the debris from the first crash ripped off its tire, causing the driver to lose control.
The two Good Samaritans tried to run out of the way, but were struck by the oncoming vehicle. One of them died at the scene, while the other suffered major injuries.
The wrong-way driver who caused the initial crash fled the scene and remains at large.
Further details, including the identities of the victims, were not immediately available. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
