10-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized in Carrillo Street Pedestrian Accident [Santa Barbara, CA]

Santa Barbara, CA (July 7, 2023) – At about 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, a 10-year-old girl sustained injuries following a Carrillo Street pedestrian accident.

The victim was with another minor female who was using the crosswalk with lights activated in the area of San Pascual Street.

Immediately, the victim was rushed to Cottage Hospital to make sure she didn’t have more serious internal injuries. She had pain in one leg but was able to stand up after the accident.

Apparently, a gold-colored Sedan did not yield to the flashing lights. The sedan’s driver remained at the scene.

Witnesses said that the girl was walking while holding her skateboard and the lights were flashing when the vehicle struck her. People in the area said many drivers tend to race to merge onto the freeway on-ramps. 

Officers are investigating the San Pascual Street traffic crash.
