1 Dead in Whitewater Crash on 10 Freeway

 
WHITEWATER, CA (March 16, 2020) – A 40-year-old man died in a crash on the 10 Freeway near Whitewater Road on March 12.
 
The authorities identified the man as Gilberto Avila of Yuca. Police revealed that Avila was struck and killed by a car on the 10 Freeway near Whitewater Road at around 3:00 p.m.
 
35-year-old Aaron Oliver of Arizona was in the Chrysler Sebring that hit Gilberto Avila, who was standing near a tow-truck that had come for an earlier solo-car crash.
 
As a result, Gilberto Avila suffered serious injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center. Reports later stated that Avila died during the treatment.
 
Meanwhile, Aaron Oliver and his passengers only sustained minor injuries. All of them were transported to the hospital for treatment.
 
The initial investigation revealed that the Chrysler driver was driving unsafely on the road. This is especially true when considering the poor weather conditions at the time of the crash.
 
The crash remains under investigation.
