Gilbert Yan Ki Ng Killed in Multiple Car Crash on I10 East near Del Mar Avenue
ROSEMEAD, CA (December 25, 2017) – 69 year-old-man, Gilbert Yan Ki Ng of Alhambra, was killed early morning Christmas day in a multiple-vehicle crash on the I10 E freeway near Del Mar Avenue.
Around 5:44 AM on Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported a multiple car collision on Interstate 10. A white BMW M4 had swerved right into a ditch near the Del Mar Avenue off-ramp, damaging about 50 feet of the guardrail. A Toyota Sienna struck the damaged guardrail while trying to get off the off ramp, making the BMW go into the fourth lane of the freeway.
With his Honda, Ng hit the BMW, making it block the third and fourth lanes of the freeway. Ng then got out of his car and was then struck by a Lexus RX300, which first crashed into the BMW.
All traffic was detoured to a different route until the wreckage was towed from the road and victims were transported to the County USC Medical Center for medical attention.
Our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Gilbert Yan Ki Ng.
