Gerardo Vasquez Dies in McDowell Road Crash in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (September 8, 2021) – Tuesday evening, a 59-year-old Gerardo Vasquez struck and died after a crash on McDowell Road.

The fatal crash in Phoenix happened at around 7:22 p.m. on September 7  near 64th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Phoenix Police said a pink SUV driving westbound down McDowell Road struck a silver truck that had broken down on the side of the road.

Moreover, the truck driver, Vasquez, who was then outside of his vehicle, was hit by the force of the impact and sustained fatal injuries.

Police continue to further investigate the circumstances of this fatal incident.
