Driver Dies after Colliding with Semi Truck at Reed and Adams Avenue
REEDLEY, CA (December 5, 2019) – A man died following a head-on crash Thursday afternoon in Reedley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. on Reed Avenue near Adams Avenue.
CHP officials said a Ford Bronco was traveling north on Reedley Avenue. At the same, a semi truck was heading south on Reedley and was starting to turn onto Adams. For unknown reasons, the Bronco collided head-on with the semi truck.
As a result, the driver of the Bronco suffered major injuries and had to be extracted from the vehicle. Sadly, the individual died on the way to the hospital.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 57-year-old Gerald Richardson of Reedley.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
