66-Year-Old Gerald Harris Killed in Benton County Crash
Benton County, WA (October 28, 2021) – On Thursday, 66-year-old Gerald Harris of Benton City lost his life in a semi-truck crash on State Route 240.
The crash happened minutes after 5:30 at the intersection with State Route 225, about three miles west of Richland.
Officers said a car driven by Harris was northbound on State Route 225.
However, it did not stop at the intersection of State Route 240.
Just then, an eastbound big rig on State Route 240 struck Harris’ vehicle.
Responding officers pronounced Harris dead at the scene while the big rig driver was not harmed in the crash.
Moreover, investigating officers said Harris was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.
