Geovanni Garcia Killed, Devon White Injured in Ephrata Crash
Ephrata, WA (October 20, 2021) – On Monday evening, 22-year-old Geovanni Garcia, a Quincy resident, died, while 19-year-old Devon White, a Soap Lake resident, suffered injuries in three-vehicle crash on State Route 282.
Officers said 79-year-old David Metzger of Ephrata was driving a 2019 Suzuki. He was southbound on Airport road and was stopped at State Route 282.
Reports said Metzger attempted to cross the highway onto Road 2. That is when his vehicle crashed with a westbound 1966 Chevrolet Impala driven by Garcia.
Then, the Impala crashed with a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta driven by White on the freeway’s eastbound lane.
Investigators said Garcia was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Moreover, the receuers took White and Metzger to Columbia Basin Hospital for their injuries.
Meanwhile, the officers are still investigating the fatal crash.
