George Pareta Critically Injured in Los Angeles Bicycle Accident [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (June 12, 2023) – On June 8, George Pareta, a 65-year-old man from Reseda, sustained serious injuries following a Los Angeles bicycle accident.

Investigating officers said George Paretawas riding his bike to Trader Joe’s, where he worked when a driver suddenly made a turn in front of him. He was catapulted into the air and crashed onto the pavement where he hit his head.  

Paramedics immediately responded to the accident scene, and though Pareta’s heart had stopped beating for some 25 minutes, the medical team was able to resuscitate him. He was then rushed to the hospital where he stays on life support.    

Pareta’s family, friends, and coworkers gather at the hospital to care for him. They are holding onto hope and each other that Pareta will get through this as the victim’s family is left to decide between keeping him in an unresponsive state or taking him off life support.

The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for mounting medical expenses.
