George Neilan Dies in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 705 [Tacoma, WA]

Tacoma, WA (August 26, 2024) On Saturday afternoon, a fatal traffic crash on Interstate 705 claimed the life of George Neilan and injured his 61-year-old male passenger.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the solo-vehicle crash happened at about 1 p.m. on Interstate 705 near the exit to Interstate 5.

Reports say that Neilan lost control of the vehicle he was driving when he failed to make a curve, the vehicle rolled over and ended up in an embankment.

Authorities pronounced George L. Neilan of Tacoma, dead at the scene, while the passenger also from Tacoma sustained injuries and was transported to Tacoma General Hospital.

Officials are conducting an investigation and have not released additional information at this time.
