Wade Mitchell of Herlong Involved in US 395 Crash
Plumas County, CA (February 26, 2022) – On Thursday, before 1 p.m., 74-year-old George Gulan and 77-year-old Sandra Gulan, both from Reno, sustained injuries in a US 395 crash.
Officers said George Gulan was driving an westbound 2008 Ford Escape on Red Rock Road approaching the US-395 crossing with Sandra Gulan.
At the same time, 60-year-old Wade Mitchell of Herlong was driving a northbound 2000 Subaru Outback on the freeway south of Red Rock Road.
Gulan stopped on the stop sign and went into the intersection. He made a left-hand turn going to US 395 as Mitchell’s vehicle was approaching the intersection.
Mitchell took evasive action by making a left turn.
As a result, the Subaru Outback crashed with Ford Escape’s front end.
The Ford Escape spun around and rested facing in an easterly direction and blocked the intersection.
Moreover, the Subaru Outback careened in a northwesterly direction onto the west shoulder. It crashed with a large highway sign before it finally stopped.
Moreover, the paramedics took George Gulan, Sandra Gulan, and Wade Mitchell to Renown Medical Center.
Officers said that both Ford occupants were wearing their seatbelts during the accident. Mitchell, on the other hand, wasn’t.
Yield right of way. It is important to understand the right of way. Be sure to yield to drivers who have the right of way. However, it is safe to never assume that all drivers know the rules. Only proceed when it is safe to do so.
There are plenty of ways to practice safe and defensive driving. This way, you can ensure your safety as well as the other motorists on the road.
