Oakland Man Gary Styles Killed, Others Injured in Richmond DUI Crash
Richmond, CA (June 24, 2021) – On Thursday, 66-year-old Oakland man Gary Styles died and others were injured in a DUI crash on South 37th Street.
The fatal crash took place at about 2:20 a.m. at the Carlson Boulevard intersection.
Officers found Styles trapped in an Acura sedan and freed him from the wreckage with hydraulic tools.
Immediately, rescuers rushed him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he died.
Moreover, the Audi driver showed signs of impairment. Authorities believe the Audi was northbound on Carson Boulevard when it t-boned the Acura as it went through the intersection.
Furthermore, Audi’s four occupants were also involved in the accident. Officers said they’re all expected to survive. Two of them, including the driver were hospitalized with injuries.
