Redding Driver Dies after Car Crashes into Big Rig near Knighton Road
REDDING, CA (December 19, 2018) – A man was killed Wednesday evening following an accident near Knighton Road. The victim was later identified as 61-year-old Gary Michael Flint, a resident of Redding.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 8:35 PM. A 2003 Toyota Camry was heading south on Interstate 5 when it swerved to the right. The vehicle continued across the paved portion of the off-ramp where it struck an unoccupied big rig.
Flint, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
