Gary McShan of Elkhart Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Crockett Road [Palestine, TX]

Palestine, TX (August 1, 2024) – Gary McShan, 59, of Elkhart, was fatally injured following a motorcycle crash on Crockett Road past Tuesday midnight.

It was past 12:30 a.m. when the fatal collision happened in the 2100 block area.

Officers said a silver Ford Explorer driven by Cathrine Reagan, 40, also of Elkhart, pulled out of the Palestine Mall driveway onto Crockett Road. 

At the same time, a southbound motorcycle driven by McShan was traveling on Crockett Road.  

Reagan pulled out in front of McShan and the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of Reagan’s vehicle.

Immediately, McShan was transported to Palestine Regional where he was declared deceased in the emergency room.

The authorities stated an inquest was performed by the Precinct 2 justice of the peace.
